Last week while in Lakeland, Florida, I just happened to find a pretty cool (still operating) drive-in.
The Silver Moon opened in 1948. It has changed ownership numerous times, and even took a direct hit from a tornado in 1950. This 67 year old relic is quite the survivor!
Admission was 35 cents way back then, but now is $5.00. I'd still call that a bargain.
There aren't that many drive-ins in existence anymore, so
to find one in such great shape, and seemingly thriving, is a real
thrill! :)
We used to live in Lakeland! It is a wonderful place :D
