Cadillac Ranch, Amarillo, Texas USA

This is a postcard of Cadillac Ranch back when you could still sort of tell that these vehicles were actual Cadillacs.

Here is what it looks like nowadays, after a Texas-sized rain drenching.

Empty spray paint cans are plentiful.

Including GIANT empty spray paint cans!

Admission is free. The only requirement to visit is to awkwardly navigate through this small gate in ankle-deep mud.

Let's take a closer look at what this sign says..........

Alrighty then!

There was a steady trickle of visitors coming and going while I was there. I imagine it's like that every day.

Here are a couple links providing everything you might want to know about Cadillac Ranch:

Sweet find! I would go find it myself, but I'm afraid of giant spray cans. Always have been. : )

Did you have the urge to pick up all the cans and repaint the cars? I bet you did.:)

That's a cool place to visit!
How do you find out about places like this anyway? Do you just run into them on your way?

Cari: Ha! Well, I was just by there again today, and all of the giant paint cans are gone. So, no excuses not to go!

Kendra: LOL Yep, I sure did!

Nives: It IS a cool place, I agree.
Some places, like this one, I just have heard of before, and it was a matter of being in the right place at the right time to visit.
Other places, I find accidentally while I'm traveling, or I hear about a place while chatting with locals.
And still other places, I track down after reading about them on various web sites that feature oddball roadside attractions.

I'd heard about this place from a friend. It's a shame they don't protect it a bit more but then they'd have to charge. The postcard is great!

Sheila, I don't know what the original intent of it was, but nowadays, graffiti/painting is, more or less, encouraged at Cadillac Ranch.
