POPS in Arcadia, Oklahoma
Another stop on my November TX & OK road trip was at POPS in Arcadia, Oklahoma.
This is a very cool POPS night view postcard.
Text on the back:
"POPS is the newest, coolest landmark on Historic Route 66. From the iconic 66-foot, LED-lit bottle outside to the 500 sodas and beverages inside, POPS answers the unquenchable thirst for adventure!"
Here are 3 photos from the day I visited.
The POPS bottle is just as fun to see during the day. :)
You wouldn't think a gas station awning would be very exciting, but this monster cantilevered canopy was pretty impressive!
The inside is a lot of fun, too! There are regular c-store items, plenty of POPS souvenirs, including overpriced postcards, and a diner serving up a gazillion funky soda flavors, like PB&J, coffee, watermelon and Dog Drool. LOL
AND lastly, this dazzling display of colorful pop (I call it soda) bottles. 12,000 pop (I call it soda) bottles!! Well worth a visit! :)

Texas Serpent
Texas has a serpent! Found this 35' beauty in a city named "The Woodlands."
I have to say that I don't really like city names that start with the word "The". :)
Anyway, it was a fun little find while in the Houston area recently!

The Big Pump
Fill 'er up! I found this giant-sized gas pump in King City, Missouri. It was built in 1937, and at that time, it was a working filling station. These days, it is on display at King City Tri County Museum.

Big Frog Sculpture
Found this giant, whimsical frog in Harpersville, Alabama. It's in front of a shop that sells pots and things from Mexico.
I had read online that Mr. Frog, also, came from Mexico. I'm very glad that he made the trip to the US, otherwise, I never would have seen him!

World's Largest Time Capsule, Seward, Nebraska
What's the first thing that comes to mind when you hear "Seward, Nebraska?"
Could it possibly be WORLD'S LARGEST TIME CAPSULE?!
If not, it should be from now on! And you're welcome if you ever get a question about it on Trivia Crack. :)
Look at all the goodies they put inside (underground) in 1975: New 1975 Chevrolet Vega, new Kawasaki motorcycle, thousands of letters and memorabilia from across the US.
The pyramid was added in 1983. It houses a badly beaten up 1975 Toyota. LOL
The grand opening is July 4, 2025. Book your hotel room soon!

POPS on Route 66 Postcard
Thanks to Denise, I just found out about this very cool, giant techno-bottle in Arcadia, Oklahoma. Can't wait to see this big boy in person one of these days!
Back of card says:
POPS is the newest, coolest landmark on Historic Route 66. From the iconic 66-foot, LED-lit bottle outside to the nearly 500 sodas and beverages inside, POPS answers the unquenchable thirst for adventure!

World's Largest Catsup Bottle Revisited
I was out and about yesterday, so I decided to go check on the WLCB. It looks great for being 66 years old, doesn't it?
Sadly, the WLCB and property where it is located is for sale. I'm sure I'm not the only one who hopes that the eventual new owner will keep it as well preserved as it is now.

Big Fish On A Stick
I kinda have a thing for oddball roadside attractions. There, I said it. So, this giant fishy got me all excited when I found it in Clarks Grove, Minnesota!
It's a big ol' walleye.
It's fiberglass.
It's 35 years old.
It's had numerous random stickers slapped on it, over the years, by other passersby.
It's so very PERFECT! :)

World's Largest Rocking Chair, Cuba, Missouri
This past week, I was cruisin' through the area of Cuba, Missouri, so I stopped by for a revisit. I'm a sucker for anything that's advertised as the "World's Largest". :)
The rocking chair is located on the premises of Fanning 66 Outpost. It is packed with Route 66 souvenirs, postcards, t-shirts, etc.
It's well worth a stop if you ever find yourself on I-44 in the eastern side of Missouri!
