Intl Postcard Week 2015 Postcard #2

AND....here is the third card from Brenda. A lovely view of Cuba's Capitol Building in Havana. The back of card says that it is about half way done being refurbished.

Check out those awesome cars!

Many thanks, Brenda, for such a great group of cards! :)))

Intl Postcard Week 2015 Postcard #1

This is the 2nd of 3 cards from Brenda. Always love seeing the artwork of Rick Geary! Text from card:
"Hello and Happy Intl. Postcard Week 2015!

This postcard celebrates the re-establishing of diplomatic relations between the United States and Cuba. For the first time since 1961, embassies have been established in each other's capital.

My husband and I had the great pleasure of visiting Cuba during these historic times. The people there are beautiful on the outside and the inside. In old Havana many of the buildings are being refurbished or rebuilt, and it looks amazing!

The picture on the front of this postcard was done by the renowned artist Rick Geary and symbolizes the renewed bridge between these two countries which are only 90 miles apart."

Thanks very much, Brenda! :)

International Postcard Week, October 5-11, 2014

Thanks to thoughtful Brenda surprising me with this fabulous IPW card yesterday, I am reminded that I forgot that it's that time of year again. That's right, it's International Postcard Week!....well, the tail end of it. I blame my forgetfulness on that rabbit-rabbit-rabbit thing from a few months ago.

But anyway, I notice that the uber-talented Rick Geary signed the brilliant IPW cartoon illustration, just like last year. Very cool!

Big, big thanks, Brenda, for making me #35 of 250! :)

International Postcard Week Postcards

Brenda, once again, surprised me with TWO fun cards. Both of them were designed to celebrate the first ever International Postcard Week.

What a great idea to promote such a fun hobby!

Brenda designed this card using her, and her kids, collection of world stamps.

I procrastinated and missed out this year, but NEXT year, I'll be doing it! Stay tuned. :)

Thanks very much, Brenda!
