Japan Postcard

So, another new Instagram friend, Susan, kindly offered to mail me a postcard while she was visiting Japan.

She found and sent this crazy card! Ha ha! I have no idea what this is or what it's about, but it's definitely not Mt. Fuji or cherry blossoms!

Lovely stamp. :)
Thanks very much, Susan!

Professor Balthazar Postcard

WHERE did the time go?!
Here is the 3rd of the three goodies from Nives that I had intended on posting in a much more timely manner than this. Ugh.

So, this cute postcard features Professor Balthazar, a well-known, born in Croatia, cartoon character. BUT, there's more, so much more to this card than you may realize. It is also hinting at a legend of the origin of the name Zagreb and also of the name of Mandusevac Fountain on Zagreb's Central Square.  If Nives hadn't gone above and beyond to explain it all to me, I would have never known!

Thanks again, Nives, for this group of 3 terrific postcards! :)

Happy Birthday, Bugs Bunny!

Bugs Bunny turns 75 today!
He doesn't look a day over 25. :)

Helsinki, Finland Postcard

Just got this happy, smiley card from Finland!
Thanks a bunch, Jaana.  :)

Finland stamps are the best!

Duckified Warhol/Monroe Postcard

Ha! This is great! A fun duckified version of Andy Warhol and his famous painting of Marilyn Monroe.

Thank you, thank you, Jaana! :)

International Postcard Week, October 5-11, 2014

Thanks to thoughtful Brenda surprising me with this fabulous IPW card yesterday, I am reminded that I forgot that it's that time of year again. That's right, it's International Postcard Week!....well, the tail end of it. I blame my forgetfulness on that rabbit-rabbit-rabbit thing from a few months ago.

But anyway, I notice that the uber-talented Rick Geary signed the brilliant IPW cartoon illustration, just like last year. Very cool!

Big, big thanks, Brenda, for making me #35 of 250! :)

Palm Sunday Cartoon Postcard

Cartoon Postcards

I get a big kick out of funny cartoon postcards. There's nothing better than standing at the mailbox laughing like a hyena for neighbors and passersby to see. :D

Denise in Georgia knows I have 7 dogs at home, so she sent this knee-slapper my way. I told her this is EXACTLY why I do not let dogs lick my face!

<<< Dog stamp :)

I like sending funny cartoon postcards as much as I like receiving them. This one went to Brenda in Florida.

Outgoing Christian Humor Postcard

I don't mess with religion or politics when it comes to sending postcards, unless there's something specific that a person mentions in their Postcrossing profile; such is the case with Olga in Ukraine.

She liked the card, and really, that's all that matters. :)

Some of these stamps matched other elements of her profile.

Jacky had no card preferences. I sent this one because it sorta reminded me of her fun, creative, unique blog.
