Big Fish On A Stick
I kinda have a thing for oddball roadside attractions. There, I said it. So, this giant fishy got me all excited when I found it in Clarks Grove, Minnesota!
It's a big ol' walleye.
It's fiberglass.
It's 35 years old.
It's had numerous random stickers slapped on it, over the years, by other passersby.
It's so very PERFECT! :)

Goat Tower, Findlay, Illinois
I had read about this goat tower, near Findlay, Illinois, on the internet. And I happened to be in that area this week, so I made a little detour to go see it. And I'm glad that I did!
It's on private, fenced-in property, so it's not possible to get a close-up view.
A goat tower is, basically, a fancy goat house. There are only a handful of them in the world. Goats are sure-footed and love to climb, so this is a perfect structure for them.
This one is 31 ft tall, made of 5,000 bricks and has 276 exterior spiral steps.
There are openings at various heights for the goats to enter.
During my visit, there were goats grazing nearby, but none were actually on, or in, the tower, that I could see.
Here is a picture of goats climbing their goat tower in South Africa. ( Goats in the tower by gconard. cc by-nc 2.0)

Giant Justins
Another great, fun find in San Antonio, Texas! This cowboy boot sculpture is 40 feet in height (12 meters), and is a replica of ostrich skin Justin boots.
It was created by (would you believe it?!) Junk Yard Dog artist, Bob "Daddy-O" Wade in 1979.
It's located at North Star Mall, and is billed as "world's largest pair of cowboy boots". Nothing says Texas better than a big ol' pair of cowboy boots, right??

Vermont Fire Hydrant Sculpture
Just when I thought nothing could top the skier/artist roadside dummy or the giant dog, along comes another strange Vermont sighting.....

Vermont Roadside Skier/Artist
So, I'm driving along in Vermont and something catches my eye. I can make out the shape and wonder why in the world is someone sitting outside in this cold, snowy weather?!
Then I get closer....
.......Ha ha ha! A fun little roadside skier-turned-artist dummy humor, Vermont-style!

World's Largest Rocking Chair, Cuba, Missouri
This past week, I was cruisin' through the area of Cuba, Missouri, so I stopped by for a revisit. I'm a sucker for anything that's advertised as the "World's Largest". :)
The rocking chair is located on the premises of Fanning 66 Outpost. It is packed with Route 66 souvenirs, postcards, t-shirts, etc.
It's well worth a stop if you ever find yourself on I-44 in the eastern side of Missouri!

Gum Wall, Seattle, Washington USA
This is a postcard of the Gum Wall in Seattle, Washington.
The Gum Wall is real gum, lots and lots of gum...already chewed gum ....stuck on a wall .....in an alley ....near Pike Place Market ....in Seattle.
It may repulse you, or it may fascinate you, or it may do a little of both. But it's as real as can be. I know this, because I paid a visit recently!
And I took pictures of it. Yes, I did!!
It's in this alley, down there on the left.
Found it!
So much color and texture. ;)
And creativity.
Keep scrolling, there's more.
It just keeps going, even engulfing the entrance to the Market Theater.
I read that it's one of the germiest attractions in the world, right up there with the Blarney Stone in Ireland!
Be proud, Seattle! :)

Outgoing World's Largest Rocking Chair Postcard
US-1466144
This little beauty went to lucky Sha in South Dakota USA. In her profile, she mentioned that she likes handmade cards, too. But that wasn't happening. So, what else do you send to someone who already has 600+ postcards? This one, of course!
I know, I know, kinda boring stamps...but look how neatly placed they are!
