Standin' On A Corner In Winslow, Arizona

I had the chance to stop in Winslow, Arizona, recently. Amongst all the great postcards I grabbed during my visit, this card featured the "standin' on a corner in Winslow, Arizona" scene described in the popular 1972 song "Take It Easy" by the Eagles.

The town of Winslow actually did create a "corner" to memorialize the song.

It was cool to see a steady trickle of tourists stopping by and snapping pictures of the "corner".

Winslow, Arizona, is located along historic Route 66, which makes it even more enticing for sightseers to stop by for a visit.

Is it bad that I had to google the Eagles to find out what song you were referencing?

Does the statue on the corner continually play the song too? That would be cool. Well, cool if you were a tourist passing by. But, maybe less cool if you were an employee nearvy stuck listening all day every day. Hmmm...

Cari, you don't know the song, "Take It Easy"? That's just WRONG! And there was no song playing. There probably was, at one time, though.....until some employee in a nearby business lost their mind after having listened to it playing all day, every day. :)
