Since I seem to have a disturbingly large number of Elvis postcards, I have decided, on the spur of the moment, to make this Official Elvis Presley's 80th Birthday 2/3 Month on the blog! YAY!
I am not an Elvis fan but I like postcards, so naturally I have several Elvis cards. I do love the cirque du soleil shows and we went to see the Elvis one in Vegas. Before the show started there was a contest for whoever could shout out Elvis's favorite food, people were shouting steak, hamburger, etc. I shouted peanut butter and bananas and won. They asked me if I was an Elvis fan and I said my mom was, but I knew the answer because I had a postcard with his favorite recipe on it. - I won a 5 X 7 picture of Elvis with his 'autograph' on it. (pre-printed) The show wasn't very good. It was only the second day it opened and they said they changed it after that, but it still didn't last very long.
Brenda, cool story! Too bad the autograph wasn't real. Thanks for sharing. I'm in the same boat as you, not really an Elvis fan, but love postcards, including Elvis cards!
