Cardinal in Winter

I snapped a pic of this hardy cardinal by the bird feeders, recently. I'm so glad that they stick around, along with some other birds, during the cold months. It's nice to see such vibrant color during the dreary winter season.

The cardinal is the official bird of 7 U.S. states.
Kansas is not one of those seven states. :)

Have a great weekend!

Cari, they wear tiny pairs of warm, brown thigh-high socks. :)

Gerda, it's a treat to see these lovely birds at the bird feeders throughout the year, especially during winter. The male cardinal is bright red, the female cardinal is a drab brownish-red color. :)
