Ottawa Postcard

New card for the collection!
I'm not sure what exactly is going on in the photo as the back of the card is not helpful at all.

I got this nifty pomp and circumstance card in a recent swap with Brenda in Canada. She has a great postcard blog, and is a member of Postcrossing.

Thanks, again, Brenda. :)

This is Ottawa's Changing of the Guard ceremony, a summer event. Performed daily, guards are posted at Rideau Hall and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. It is a ceremonial thing though the guards are all trained military.

Thanks for the info! I would love to see that in person. Their uniforms are so unique and colorful.

And hot. They must broil in them on hot summer days.

Ugh. Hadn't even considered the hot weather. I guess shorts would not be a good look for them during summer? :)

I think shorts could work... just no flip flops or muscle shirts. :)
