OK Flag & Route 66 Postcards

Here are another couple of nice cards I picked up on the recent trip to Texas & Oklahoma.

"The Osage warrior's tan buckskin shield represents protective warfare. The pipe and the olive branch represent peace between the Indian and the white man. The crosses, or Indian stars, represent lofty ideals and the blue that displays the symbolic emblem is the Oklahoma sky."

"Though it was officially removed from the United States Highway System in 1985, Route 66 remains one of the most famous highways in America and has been designated a National Scenic Byway in several of the states it passes through and even returned to the state road network as State Route 66 and Historic Route 66."
