St. Louis Skyline Postcards

Recently, I found a couple new (to me) downtown St. Louis postcards. And as a bonus, they are both night views!

It's always nice to come across something new, especially from the area in which you live. :)

Outgoing St. Louis MO Postcard

 US-1466158
Back on January 8, this card featuring a beautiful view of downtown St. Louis began its long journey to JO-Ya in Taiwan.
Seventeen days later, journey completed!

Outgoing St. Louis Arch Postcard

US-1482050
Fanyi in Taiwan didn't have much to go by in his Postcrossing profile, so I chose this pretty Springtime view of the Arch grounds in St. Louis, Missouri, to send his way.

Outgoing St. Louis Arch Postcard

Two more "back in January" cards! This pretty view of the Arch in St. Louis didn't travel very far at all. Desiree lives in Missouri, a neighboring state.

Outgoing St. Louis Arch Postcards

Klaus in Germany has an unusual, cryptic, mysterious, poetic profile, so I chose this sort of mysterious foggy view of the Arch in St. Louis to send. Plus, he's already sent and received over 2,000 official cards, so finding something new to send him was a bit of a challenge.

I bet he didn't already have this exact group of stamps on any of his 2,000+ cards.

US-1217309
Kristin in Washington state had listed lightning as one of her likes.
Match!

US-1217311
Elina in Latvia said in her profile that all postcards were welcome, but handmade ones were appreciated. I am so gonna try to make some handmade cards... maybe.... someday....... possibly... as soon as I find a construction paper, glitter and glue store.

Amazing stamps!

US-1122317
Olga in Russia was open to any kind of card, so off it went.

Compared to the previous amazing stamps, these are on the boring side. And even the Arch picture isn't all that great. I must have been in a bad mood or something, that day.

And finally, this beautiful sunset view of the Arch and the St. Louis skyline was sent to Nives in Croatia, a fellow postcard blogger, and eater of a really delicious looking cake called "kremsnita" : )

And now, the last set of stamps. I'm looking forward to seeing who the first "living" people will be on US stamps, now that the USPS changed the rules about the people not having to be dead for at least 5 years before they can show up on a stamp.

Frankfurt, Germany Postcard

Received this beautiful, extra large, multi-view card of Frankfurt, Germany in a private swap with Reiner.
He filled the opposite side with tons of interesting information about the city.

Very nice stamps, too.
Thanks very much, Reiner!

In return, I sent him this view of the Gateway Arch and downtown St. Louis, Missouri. I just never, ever get tired of seeing that big ol' shiny stainless steel thing!

Sent Postcard to Brazil US-801595

Isa enjoys rock music. I sent her this card of the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio.

And, of course, I was late sending out her official card, so to ease my guilty conscience, 2 more extras sent out! This one from my home state of Illinois.

And this one of the beautiful, majestic, shiny, awesome, cool Arch in nearby St. Louis, Missouri.

Sent Postcards to Poland US-810123

Karolina and Tomek love mountains. Sent them this one of Maroon Bells, near Aspen, Colorado.

Also, sent them two extra cards to make up for mailing their official card so late. They mentioned night views, monuments, and characteristic view of my city. This card of Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Missouri fits all three!

And finally, Karolina loves animals.

Sent Postcard To Poland US-779780

Patrycja wanted something from the region where I live. I've mailed this one out before, but it's new to her, so that's all that matters! I  never get tired of viewing the St. Louis skyline featuring the shiny stainless steel Arch on the banks of the Mississippi river.

Instead of the much more common view looking west with St. Louis skyline in the background, this view of the Arch is looking east into Illinois...not a skyscraper, a mountain or molehill  in sight.
