Great Chiefs Postcard

This handsome looking card features Great Chiefs of the American West: Ouray (Utes), Cochise (Chiricahua-Apache), Geronimo (Apache), Little Raven (Arapahos), Sitting Bull (Hunkpapa Sioux), Rain-In-The-Face (Sioux), Chief-Joseph (Nez Perce) and Quanah Parker (Comanche).

Sometimes, closing your eyes and grabbing a random card out of a box full of postcards turns out rather well. :)

Kansas City & The Scout

I ended up in Kansas City, Missouri, earlier this week. I remembered that I had this beautiful view of the KC skyline on a postcard.

 I decided to track it down in person....

...And I found it!

The rainy weather cleared up just in time for this gorgeous view!

A little info on the statue:

Official name:The Scout
Height: 10+ feet (3+ m)
Sculptor: Cyrus E. Dallin
Depicts: A Sioux Indian on horseback surveying the landscape.
Timeline: Conceived & sculpted in 1910; exhibited in San Francisco, CA, in 1915; Officially dedicated in Kansas City, as a permanent memorial to local Native Americans, in 1922.

Fresh out of the mailbox! This beautiful panda card is from China.  Karas tagged me in the Fast Favorites tag on Postcrossing's Forum.  It was the first time I tried doing a tag. I liked it!

As my part of the tag, I found that Betty in Austria had this card in her faves, and I happened to have it. So, I tagged her and off it went!

I did that, and found one that I happened to have on hand. So, this great card, which pays tribute to the Native American Indian and the iconic buffalo on a U.S. five cent piece, was sent on its way to her.
