Silver Moon Drive-In, Lakeland, Florida
Last week while in Lakeland, Florida, I just happened to find a pretty cool (still operating) drive-in.
The Silver Moon opened in 1948. It has changed ownership numerous times, and even took a direct hit from a tornado in 1950. This 67 year old relic is quite the survivor!
Admission was 35 cents way back then, but now is $5.00. I'd still call that a bargain.
There aren't that many drive-ins in existence anymore, so to find one in such great shape, and seemingly thriving, is a real thrill! :)

POPS in Arcadia, Oklahoma
Another stop on my November TX & OK road trip was at POPS in Arcadia, Oklahoma.
This is a very cool POPS night view postcard.
Text on the back:
"POPS is the newest, coolest landmark on Historic Route 66. From the iconic 66-foot, LED-lit bottle outside to the 500 sodas and beverages inside, POPS answers the unquenchable thirst for adventure!"
Here are 3 photos from the day I visited.
The POPS bottle is just as fun to see during the day. :)
You wouldn't think a gas station awning would be very exciting, but this monster cantilevered canopy was pretty impressive!
The inside is a lot of fun, too! There are regular c-store items, plenty of POPS souvenirs, including overpriced postcards, and a diner serving up a gazillion funky soda flavors, like PB&J, coffee, watermelon and Dog Drool. LOL
AND lastly, this dazzling display of colorful pop (I call it soda) bottles. 12,000 pop (I call it soda) bottles!! Well worth a visit! :)

Gas Jockey Switcheroo
I always notice this happy, eager-to-please, squeegee in one hand, gas nozzle in the other hand, gas jockey guy every time I drive through Crystal City, Missouri.
It had been a while since the last time. So, just this past week, I find myself there again, in Crystal City. And to my horror, I find this....
....my gas jockey buddy is GONE! He has been replaced by THIS guy!
What happened to the happy guy?? This guy doesn't even have a sqeegee!
At first, I thought happy guy got a makeover, new hairdo, new cap, new overalls, new shoes, dropped some pounds. But NO, this is a different guy!
I'm a little rattled.
