A Woman and Her Tuxedo Dog Postcard
It's catch up time on the ol' blog!
I am so late in posting this delightful card from Gerda. She was thoughtful enough and clever enough to surprise me with a card that has not one, not two, but THREE of my favorite topics... dogs, black and white, and humor. :) I love it!!
Sending tons of thanks your way, Gerda!
Belgian stamp commemorating the 150th anniversary of the International Red Cross. :)

Big Barrel Bob
Spotted MoDOT's Barrel Bob doing his job out on a Missouri road construction site. In case you can't tell, he's facing the opposite direction. :)
Rumor has it that Barrel Bob has a girl friend, Betty Barrel. I haven't seen her...yet.
Fun fact: When Barrel Bob needs a bit of repair, he goes to a plastic surgeon.
Ha ha! Get it? PLASTIC surgeon. :)

Oil Tank Cows Revisited
Remember these two oil tank gals? They made an appearance on the blog in 2012....
.....I was thrilled, THRILLED to revisit these beauties very recently! They still look great out there grazing in their pasture. It's as if they haven't moved an inch for the past 3 years. :)

I Love Idioms, Especially When on a Postcard
Brenda surprised me with another one of her self-designed, clever and creative postcards last month!
This one really made me chuckle. :D
I also got a kick out of the "connection" she made of the stamps to the card. LOL
BIG thanks, Brenda!

No-Bell Prize Postcard
Honestly, I don't care if people see me standing at my mail box laughing my butt off, because that's what I did when I saw this card in last week's mail. :D
Funny and punny cards are great! I love 'em!
Thanks so much, Brenda, for surprising me with this cleverly funny and punny card! :)
Extra bonus funny stuff: I wonder if Brenda remembered that I like when stamps match the card in any kind of way, or if this was a freaky coincidence? Either way, it gets a big HA HA from me!

Grinch In The Trunk
Another fun/weird/amusing/humorous/oddball sighting in St. Louis, Missouri, this past week.
Check out the trunk of the silver car. (Not great photos, but I couldn't really run up to the driver and ask him to sit still for a photo session...not that I didn't think about it! :) )
I'm pretty sure it's the Grinch's green hand, sticking out of the trunk, holding a Santa hat.
Yep, the green hand and the Santa cap are a match.
He's up to something again!

Anne Taintor Postcard #5
And they were clearly thinking the same thing about her. :)
Sadly, this is the last of my Anne Taintor cards.
Thanks for the chuckles, Anne!

Anne Taintor Postcard #1
Domestically disabled. Ha ha!
I get a kick out of Anne Taintor postcards. In fact, I'm laughing as I type this. :D But really, who doesn't get a chuckle from a witty, tongue-in-cheek modern-day caption juxtaposed onto a stereotypical mid-century advertisement?!

Peek-A-Boo Bear Postcard
:::::dusting off blog cob webs:::::
It's good to be back!
So anyway, I love animals. I love nature. I love humor. Put them all together and it makes for a GREAT postcard!
Jaana sent this super cool card of a bear seemingly playing peek-a-boo, or maybe it's just doing some tree hugging. Who knows??
I DO know that if I were to have an opportunity to snap a photo of something like this, it would be one huge thrill!
Matching bear stamp. :)
Thanks very, very much, Jaana!

Smiling Peanut Postcard
Ha Ha! One of these days, I will make it to Plains, Georgia, to see this masterpiece in person!
Backside says: "The smiling peanut stands 13 ft high, and was donated to Plains by Democratic friends. Made of wooden hoops, chicken wire, aluminum foil and polyurethane. It is known worldwide, and has been featured on the TV game show, Jeopardy. It is located on Hwy. 45N about 1/2 mile from the original Jimmy Carter Campaign Headquarters at the town train depot in Plains, Georgia".
(Update of text on card: The Jimmy Carter Peanut is still alive and well after being moved to a different location in Plains, Georgia.)
Newly issued Forever stamp featuring legendary rock guitarist Jimi Hendrix. At first, I didn't see a connection between the card and the stamp. But, it just dawned on me: Jimmy Carter, Jimi Hendrix! Very clever. :)
Thanks a bunch, Denise!

Junk Art - Junk Yard Dog
Another "what is that?" moment. Oh, cool! It's a 1966 Plymouth Fury-turned-junk art!
Ha ha! I love this stuff!
The sign says "Welcome. The home of Bob Wade's Junk Yard Dog".
Even if this funky cigar-smokin' junk yard dog art piece on display at a San Antonio salvage yard doesn't impress you, Bob "Daddy-O" Wade's credentials will.
Thank you, Bob Wade, for creating this crazy lookin', googly-eyed pooch!

Beach Ball Postcard
It's National Beach Ball Day! Woohoo!
Not really.
But it should be though. :)
Have a great day, everyone!

Vermont Roadside Skier/Artist
So, I'm driving along in Vermont and something catches my eye. I can make out the shape and wonder why in the world is someone sitting outside in this cold, snowy weather?!
Then I get closer....
.......Ha ha ha! A fun little roadside skier-turned-artist dummy humor, Vermont-style!
