Cotton Harvesting in Missouri

While cruising through southeast Missouri very recently, I couldn't NOT notice these huge bales of freshly harvested cotton in bright pink wrapping.

I feel admiration and gratefulness when I see farmers working day and night planting or harvesting their crops.

This time was no exception. Thank you, all you hardworking farmers!

Äkäslompolo, Finland Postcard

The next card from Jaana shows the beautiful autumn landscape of Äkäslompolo. This is a popular place for cross-country skiing and Alpine skiing in the winter.

Ha! Not sure what's going on there on the stamp. :D

Thanks a ton, Jaana, for the gorgeous card, and for finding time to mail it while you were still there! :)

Autumn in New York Postcard

I found, (and bought, of course!) a bunch of really nice cards on a recent trip to...guess where?  Yes! New York!

The leaves have already peaked out in NY for this year, but this card is a nice reminder of the beautiful fall foliage that can be found there.

Branson, Missouri Postcard

Happy Monday!
Just a pretty fall postcard to start the week.

Back of card says:
The autumn landscape in the Branson area explodes in an array of rich colors beginning in mid-September and lasting through late November. Great ways to see fall color in the Ozarks are via plane, helicopter, train and boat at one of the area's many excursion and sightseeing attractions.

Japanese Maiko Girls Postcard

Shiori sent this colorful autumn card of Maiko Girls standing at the Garden of Daigo-ji Temple in Kyoto, Japan.

 Maiko is a Geisha apprentice.

Thanks very much, Shiori!

Finland Fall Postcard

Happy November!

Jaana sent me another beauty. Literally. Such a beautiful, colorful, foggy, peaceful, autumn view.

I always love the stamps and stickers that she puts on the back of the card. :)
Big thanks, Jaana!

October in Birmingham, Alabama

It's late October and still beautifully green and warm in Alabama.  Love it!

And....GO CARDINALS!

Autumn 2012

Fall foliage colors, in the midwest part of the country, are turning out to be rather dull, so far.

I'm guessing that it's because of the severe drought this past summer.

However, this year's pumpkin crop is looking great!

Outgoing Great River Road Postcard

US-1466146
I sent this scenic card to Brenda in Montana because she said in her profile: "I would love to see images of where you live and things that you find beautiful!"

Technically, I don't live in Alton, but it's fairly close, and I find this combination of road, bluffs and colorful fall foliage to be very beautiful!

Brenda also mentioned that she loves "history, archaeology, palentology, anything pre-historic and dinosuars." So, this seemed a perfect stamp to add to the card.

Autumn Has Arrived!

Spotted these happy hay bales in Armada, Michigan.
(I'm pretty sure this one here is a male hay bale.)

If only they had legs, they'd be jumping for joy that today is the first day of Autumn!
