I'm celebrating #JimThorpeThursday with this beautiful postcard from my Instagram friend, RobMerica.
Card says: "Final Resting Place - Jim Thorpe, All American. Located along Rt. 903, Jim Thorpe, PA, this 20 ton granite mausoleum perpetuates the memory of the noted American Indian athlete...."
"....Centerpiece is appraisal of Thorpe by King Gustav of Sweden after the 1912 Olympics - Sir, you are the greatest athlete in the world."
Such a cool card! Extra bonus is this Shirley Temple stamp. :)
Many thanks, Rob!

Outgoing Postcrossing Postcards
US-1095379
Tara said she really likes postcards of graveyards or headstones. So, I sent her this card of frontierswoman Calamity Jane (Martha Jane Cannary 1852?-1903) posing in front of a grave.

I sent this card of beautiful Union Station in St. Louis, Missouri, built in 1894, because Brenda mentioned that she especially loves pictures of old buildings.
